Summary

The primary goal of building commissioning, from an energy perspective, is to verify and optimise the performance of energy systems within a building. The objective of this annex is to develop, validate and document tools for commissioning buildings and building services that will help facilitate the achievement of this goal. These tools will include guidelines on commissioning procedures and recommendations for improving commissioning processes, as well as prototype software that could be implemented in stand alone tools and/or embedded in building energy management systems (BEMS). It is anticipated that some of the procedures developed in the annex will be transfered to standardisation bodies and could eventually become the basis for new commissioning regulations. The work performed in the annex will focus on HVAC systems and their associated control systems, but will take into account when appropriate, interactions with other systems and with the building shell.

Participants: Belgium, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong PRC, Hungary, Japan, Korea, Netherlands (Observer), Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, USA
